Tom Waits is fairly famous for aggressively pursuing companies that attempt to use his voice and music in ads. His court case against Frito Lay is (apparently) a pretty important bit of tradmark law (it allows celebrities to sue when companies use impersonators to sell a product). But, it looks like Waits did do a commercial a few years before that lawsuit. For Purina dog food. Everyone needs money. There's something so awesomely over the top about it (is he enjoying himself?), that I think it's kind of great. Watch it and the phrase, "beef...liver...bacon" will be forever whispered in your ear.
