[Aside: Jonathan Lethem's website is kind of a trip. The visual on the first page is set on random, and if you click "glove compartment" you'll get to read some short pieces by him. He's also the author of Motherless Brooklyn (about a P.I.-type with Tourette's - it sounds outlandish but it works) and Gun, with Occasional Music (a Philip K. Dick-like novel, that is really enjoyable and really weird).
